Chelsea’s United States Men’s National Team winger Christian Pulisic is currently a sidelined player at the club and has found playing time very hard to come by under German manager Thomas Tuchel. The winger is now a frustrated figure at Stamford Bridge and even though he has been fit in their last few games, he has not been used. The former Borussia Dortmund attacker was not even included in the team that beat Everton 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Monday, fuelling reports of him potentially leaving the Blues in the summer.
According to several reports that began to surface earlier in the week, the 22-year-old is attracting serious interest from a host of clubs across Europe, including Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool.
It comes as a surprise that Pulisic is finding it hard to get game time under Thomas Tuchel, the manager who handed him his debut for
German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund back in 2016. His sudden demise from the squad is also considered to be food for thought because he was arguably Chelsea’s best player when football first resumed after the lockdown and many believed that he was ready to lead Chelsea’s attacking line for several years to come, especially after he was handed the number 10 jersey following William’s departure to Arsenal.
But since Tuchel arrived at Stamford Bridge, the German has instead preferred other attacking options like Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount, and Kai Havertz over the USMNT star.
Pulisic may now have to follow the same path he did under Lampard after it took him as many as 9 months for him to convince the former Blues manager that he was good enough for the club.
